The Streets

“I have an affection for a great city.
I feel safe in the neighbourhood of man,
and enjoy the sweet security of the streets.”

A little portrayal of the streets, portraying them as I see them, portraying the way I love them, because people are my people and I love how their faces, their expressions, their gestures and words appeal to me, and whenever I walk in the streets, I feel like I am where I should be to get inspired. The shouts, the noise of rattling things, the footsteps on the ground, the honks of vehicles, the far-too crowded streets… they make me feel insignificant and bring about the realisation that my one little trouble does not compare to the 99 problems they might be facing out there in the streets…

I have to say this is one of the most interesting subject I have ever had for a picture because the look on this man’s face was so kind and when I smiled and pointed at my camera signaling I wanted a picture, he just smiled back and stood still. Got to say it was the cutest, kindest and most warm and shy smile I have ever encountered. I got only one shot of him before somebody came in front of me and I went to the rasta guy and showed him his picture. He was so happy, I wish I had asked him his name…
